Housekeeping
Street Department · Leeds, Alabama
Summary:
Work is performing routine and special housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and sanitary facility. Work is performed under the supervision of the Public Works Supervisor and is reviewed through inspection and observation of results.
Typical Job Duties:
Cleans and maintains assigned work area using mops, buffers, and other cleaning supplies and equipment in order to maintain functional and safe environment.
Removes waste and used linens from various clinic areas.
Prepares to complete all daily tasks assigned for that shift.
Conducts training to provide knowledge and understanding of work processes to ensure compliance with procedures and standards.
Procures and/or manages inventory (i.e., supplies and equipment) to ensure the products and services are available to meet the operational needs of each department.
Supervises staff by assigning and distributing work, directing staff in their job duties, monitoring progress of work, providing feedback and/or training.
Minimum Qualifications:
The following section provides the minimum qualifications necessary for appointment to this job. Applicants must meet or exceed these qualifications in order to be considered eligible for employment consideration.
Housekeeping experience cleaning and disinfecting within a commercial, industrial, or medical facility using chemicals.
Willingness to handle bio-hazardous items (i.e., items infected with blood borne pathogens, body fluids, and communicable diseases).
Willingness to be exposed to hazardous cleaning chemicals.
Willingness to be exposed to unpleasant smells (e.g., urine, feces, noxious fumes, and waste).
Willingness to operate cleaning machinery (e.g. floor stripper, buffing machines, etc.).
