Leeds Fitness Court® Grand Opening & Ribbon Cutting Event
The Leeds Fitness Court® Grand Opening, Ribbon Cutting and Fitness Challenges brought a large crowd this week to celebrate the new outdoor fitness court at Leeds Memorial Park. We would like to thank Blue Cross Blue Shield and the City of Leeds for making this possible. Thank you to Jeh Jeh Pruitt for taking the time out of your busy schedule to be the event Emcee, to the Police and Fire Departments for the fitness challenge, to Workout Anytime with Rachel and Jalil for organizing and conducting the fitness demonstrations as well as conducting the fitness class at the end of the program. Thank you to each of our new Fitness Ambassadors, our Leeds High School students and our Chamber High School Diplomats for your participation. Thank you to Sophie Martin and all of the BCBS and National Fitness Campaign representatives who came out to celebrate as well as our city officials. Thank you, Red Diamond SweetRide for providing plenty of delicious tea and coffee products at this event. It was a great day! We look forward to how this Fitness Court® will enhance our community and help with overall fitness, health and well-being for our residents.

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama, CITY OF LEEDS and National Fitness Campaign Make Fitness Free for Everyone in LEEDS
LEEDS, AL, OCTOBER 25, 2022 — Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama, City of Leeds, and National Fitness Campaign (NFC) today announced a partnership to bring an outdoor Fitness Court® to the City of Leeds. The Fitness Court, located in Leeds Memorial Park at 1159 Montevallo Road, will officially open Tuesday, November 1 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
This Fitness Court was developed by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama, City of Leeds and NFC to expand free access to high quality workouts and create equitable access to exercise for communities around the state. The Fitness Court is the world’s best outdoor gym that lets people use their own body weight to get a complete workout using seven exercise stations.
Created with people aged 14 and over - and with all abilities - in mind, the workouts are adaptable for all fitness levels, allowing participants to move at their own pace. Users also may download the free Fitness Court App which acts as a coach-in-your-pocket and enhances the outdoor gym into a digitally supported wellness experience.

Residents are invited to attend the Launch Event on Tuesday, November 1 at 10:00 a.m. to try the Fitness Court. Jeh Jeh Pruitt, WBRC Fox 6 TV Presenter and Reporter, will emcee the event which will include a Police vs. Fire Fitness Challenge, fitness demonstrations and a fitness class.
