Leeds Senior Center Update

OCTOBER is here! Did you know that the Statue of Liberty opened to the public in October 1886? There have been more US presidents born in the month of October, with President Jimmy Carter being the last living president born in this month. Also, the Concord flew its last flight in October 2003. Walt Disney World opened in Florida in October 1971. Finally, the famous magician, Houdini, passed away on October 31, 1926.  October sounds like a month for adventure!

We have had a couple of people express an interest in the card game Pinochle. If you know how to play and are sixty (60) years are older plan to drop by the Center on a Tuesday. If you have questions, call the Center at 205.699.0910.

If you’ve not had a chance to check out our Senior Center, OCTOBER  is the perfect time. We hope to see you this week!

Monday, October 2 – Open from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.

• Exercise 10:45 to 11:30
• Lunch (11:30) – cost $2 per person (RSVP required)
• Bible Study – 12:15 (I Timothy)

Tuesday, October 3 – open from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.

• Games
• Lunch (11:30) – cost $2 per person (RSVP required)
• Regular Games continue

Wednesday, October 4 – open from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm

• Exercise 10:45 to 11:30
• Lunch (11:30) – cost $2 per person (RSVP required)
• Line Dancing – 12:15

Thursday, October 5 – open from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm

• Andrea from Viva Health – Baseball Corn Hole
• Lunch (11:30) – cost $2 per person (RSVP required)
