Special Election this Tuesday

Leeds Alabama’s special election is coming up this Tuesday, January 22, 2019 and you will have an opportunity to vote whether or not you would like to help Leeds City Schools go to the next level of education and excellence!

With tax proceeds allocated to the Leeds Board of Education commits to the construction of a new football stadium, soccer field, baseball field, softball field, track facilities and tennis courts at our high school, as well as funding for increased school security, educational programs and classroom support.

The City of Leeds has committed to provide a new senior center, public library, civic center and municipal offices.

The City of Leeds passed a resolution to guarantee that the money from this tax referendum will go to the projects proposed projects and will not be spent on other projects. The City of Leeds passed this resolution to put as ease any question in anyone’s mind as to where the money would go from this referendum, even though by law the money has to be spent where it is proposed.

With your Yes vote, construction of a new football stadium will begin in 2019 with completion by the 2020 season!

Additional construction projects will be phased throughout 2019 with all projects completed by the 2021 school year!

The municipal construction completion will take slightly longer.

Polls will be open January 22, 2019 from 7:00 am until 7:00 pm at Leeds Civic Center.

This is an opportunity to take our schools and our city to the next level and the vote is up to you!

Vote on January 22, 2019!
