Learn how to utilize a rain barrel in your home garden or how to make your own at home with a pre-recorded session led by Rhonda Britton, Regional Extension Agent with the Alabama Cooperative Extension System. Barrels are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Barrels come ready to install, or customize yours at home. Registration required.


A facility of the Birmingham Park and Recreation Board, Birmingham Botanical Gardens is the result of a public/private partnership between the City of Birmingham and the nonprofit Friends of Birmingham Botanical Gardens, a mission-driven membership organization that seeks to protect, nurture, and share the wonders of the Gardens.

This Virtual Rain Barrel Workshop is presented in partnership with the City of Leeds, City of Birmingham, City of Bessemer, Jefferson County, Jefferson County Department of Health, Keep Birmingham Beautiful, Alabama A & M – Auburn Universities Extension, Storm Water Management Authority, Inc. and Jefferson County Conservation District.
